AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!! !@#$%^&*

For the past 2 hours, I have been trying to upload Tashi's pics but all i get are broken images. I dont know if it's me or my account with Geocities but i signed up at Tripod and the same fucking thing happened. I have given up all hope but i did e-mail trixy asking how she did hers with MSN coz i have an online photo album there. I hope trixy replies.

Anyhow, i just created a simple page with Tashi's pics.

I'm sad today...my hunny left for Korea this afternoon for a business meeting. He'll be gone for a whole week!!!! He gets back on the 8th and he'll be leaving for Boracay the very next day for an event [jetsetter huh? hehe!] Haven't been away from him for this long. I hate it. It sucks big time.

No work tomorrow!!!! YAAAHHHHOOOOO!!!! I'm going to sleep till noon! Have a great holiday you guys!!!

My Gawd!!!!

I checked out my site meter this morning! Thanks to everyone who has contributed to my increasing no. of page views!

Anyhow, i was looking at my referrals section and found some pretty unusual stuff that people search for in Google which resulted in showing my blog. Here are they:

1. Raymart Santiago
2. Rico Yan and Claudine Baretto
3. Claudine Baretto [Jeez! This is NOT a showbiz Blog!!!!]
4. Rico Yan's Death [Well, i did write something about his death anyway]
5. Judy Ann Santos [Aacccckkk!!!! I'm sooo baduyy!!!]
6. Boy Abunda [This is my imaginary mirror.....yada yada yada]
7. Girl raping a guy [at last!!!! Something different! Uggghh!]
8. Boracay Sex [my goodness!!!! I'm Rated PG!]

And finally, someone searched for where to go to Boracay and my site showed up! To the others who searched for those showbiz personalities, my apologies. I cannot give you updates on the Yan-Baretto love story. For the person who searched for places to go to in Boracay [hope you come visit my site again], here are some places i recommend:

PLACES TO STAY:

1. Pink Patio- my favorite resort! Its not beachfront [located in between Boat Station 1 and 2, the best part of the beach in Boracay]but they're the only resort in the island with the best restaurant. Their accomodations come with free breakfast and the longganisa is so good that i had to ask where they buy it. They were kind enough to tell me where to get it and i've been bringing home longganisa from Boracay ever since! You should also try their famous Pink Patio Chicken, Spicy Chinese Vegetables and Pata Tim. They also have the most inviting pool and they're the only resort in the island with a wall climbing facility. Guests get a 50% discount. The massage room is also the best in the island, so far unless you wanna spend more than $100 for a massage at The Mandala Spa.

2. Seawind and Boracay Regency - If you wanna stay in a beach front resort and splurge a bit, these 2 resorts are my recommendations. Its perfect for honeymooners. But if you really want to splurge, like $200/night, stay at Friday's. Its at the northern most tip of the island so its a lot peaceful here.

3.True Homes- only has 8 rooms. Very meditteranean [damn, did i spell that correctly?]. Exotic and cozy.

WHERE TO EAT, DRINK AND BE MERRY:

1. try the food at Caribo. Their Chef, Edgar is very very nice and funny. Ive noticed that a lot of pinoys get intimidated by the place for reasons I dont know. Caribo is located near Sandcastles. My boyfriend and i usually bring a bottle of wine when we dine here and believe me....they dont charge for corkage! Try his version of beef mechado and sinigang....YYUUMMMYY!!!
2. Eat Crepe's at Gorio's. Much much much better than the ones at red coconut. The La Pinay and Nutella are personal favorites! Just a trivia, the original Cafe Breton was actually in Boracay...
3. Bombom bar is a great place to chill out in. I'm a sucker for their rum coke.
4. If you want shakes, go to Jony's.
5. If at around 3am you get hungry and everything else is closed...run to Sea Lover's. Their food is cheap and its not bad. They're open 24 hours.
6. True Foodfor authentic indian food. Their servings are quite big so you can always share.
7. Honeybee's at the Talipapa for good combo meals
8. Hey Jude has great pizzas!
9. Summer Place for eat all you can Mongolian!!!
10. For yummy chicken, head over to K.O. Chicken right across Jony's.

Whew!!! By the way, i closed my biggest account this morning. Turns out my puppy IS a lucky charm Ü

Another work week has ended *jumps around* So far its been really good. Hopefully i'm closing my biggest account by early next week. Really no plans for this weekend yet. I haven't been really out on a gimmick since i got back from Boracay last Holy Week[yes, it was that exhausting].

I thiink i'll be spending a lot of time with Tashi [my 2-month old Lhasa Apso puppy]. He's due for a bath tomorrow. Never did i imagine that taking care of a 2-month old puppy would make me feel like a real mom [or bitch for that matter, hihi!). I make an average of 3 calls to my house everytime i'm at work just to check up on Tashi and make sure that he's had lunch and he's getting enough rest. Its not that i dont trust him with my sisters, I'm really just making sure he's being taken care of while I'm here at the office. He's been with me for only 4 days and because he's still adjusting to the new environment [imagine waking up with 6 other puppies for 2 months then one night you wake up all alone], he's been crying when he wakes up in the wee hours of the morning. And i have to wake up and cuddle with him so he'll stop. Yes, its a bit draining but his kisses and when i see him super playful makes it all very, very rewarding. Gawd! I miss Tashi! I just wanna go home!

Hope everyone else has a good week! Signing off....

You're hooked. You spend hours desperately trying to get people interesting in the Emmerdale Farm ringtone and text message porn you just downloaded. You upgrade your phone three times a year. When you go visiting, the first thing you say is: "Do you mind if I charge my mobile"? You still hope WAP will catch on.

Too late for Friday Five but what the heck?

1. What's your favorite TV show and why? Definitely Sex and the City. This show is an obsession. I hate missing an episode. If men want to understand women, they should watch this show (and i think a lot of guys really do). I also love Sex and the City because it talks a lot about family, friendship, love and career...things that are most important to every woman. Plus, the clothes are to die for!!! Though, i dont think i could never pull off Carrie's outfits.
Will and Grace is another show that I'm addicted to. Jack and Karen are unbelievable funny!!! I love her sarcasm!!!

2. Who is your favorite television star? I've always found Kevin Spacey, Richard Gere, Antonio Sabato (he's in TV now, right?) and Ewan McGregor such cuties!

3. What was your favorite TV show as a child? Rainbow Brite, Carebears, Sesame Street, Great Space Coaster

4. What show do you think should have been cancelled by now? 3rd Rock from the Sun. blech!

5. What new show do you hope escapes the axe this season? i dont have a clue.....

Listening to: Sick of Myself by Matthew Sweet

5 seconds after i got out of the shower this morning, i was already perspiring. So much for feeling freshened up. I quickly checked my palm for any meetings scheduled today. Luckily, there was none. Because of the heat that i just cannot take anymore, i decided to wear my super sleeveless top (its like a sando already) and my long black skirt to work. It was so weird....i was walking to my office and it got cloudy, then windy, and then it started to drizzle. It stayed that way for like 15 seconds until the sun came up again. What is up with that?

Forgive me folks, but i just need to let this out. Eversince the bombings that happened here in Manila, mall administrators have instructed security personnel to frisk and check the bags of anyone who enters the mall. I'm completely fine about that. But since the bombing issues have died down, so has the ability of the malls' security to really check your bags. Because of the astounding number of people who go to malls everyday, a line builds up by the entrance. You line up for like a couple of minutes, go through the hassle of opening your bag (i get really pissed when i bring my backpack) only to have a security guard (male security for males and female guards for females) poke a stick inside your bag, hold your waist and let you go. I could have a dynamite hiding at the bottom of my bag and they'll never know!!!

Enough griping!!!

I'd like to say thanks to Mona for writing my site up "as a fun read, splashed with ocassional bitchy banter.". Visit her site and read on how she is reborn daily by the love of her family and friends.

I found this poem that Carrie of Sex and the City made for her friend during a wedding. Its really really nice!

His hello was the end of her endings
Her laugh was their first step down the aisle
His hand would be hers to hold forever
His forever was as simple as her smile
He said she was what was missing
She said instantly she knew
She was a question to be answered
And his answer was, "I do."

I walked to the elevator as i entered my building this afternoon. I was already inside when i saw a woman headed for the elevator also. So i waited for her to get inside before i closed the elevator door. I had already pushed my floor's button before she got in. As the doors were closing, she suddenly says:

Woman: 6th!!!
Me: [looked at her slowly in my bitchy face] Excuse me?!?
[woman is dumbfounded and she presses 6]

Seriously, i wouldn't mind pressing 6 for her but c'mon....i think she left her manners in the lobby!!! Tsk tsk tsk.

I think God heard my prayer (actually, it was more of like a rant) yesterday because while my hunny and i were on our way to his place after work, the rain poured. It was cool when we got out of the car. I really miss that kind of weather. Makes you want to cuddle in bed while watching TV or something *wink wink* Ü

Oh guess what? I got my puppy last night!!!! It was a spur of the moment thing. We texted the owner and asked what we should buy before picking up our puppy and she said that she took care of the dog's needs and that we can him up already. So right after dinner, Leeds and i headed for the owner's house to get our puppy. We called him Tashi. Why? Well, Lhasa Apso's originated from Tibet so i looked for Tibetan names and liked Tashi which means "Good Luck or Fortune". He proved to be a lucky charm for me and Leeds because today, Leeds finally landed a big account he's been working on for a couple of weeks now. I'll take some pictures of him this week and I'll post them here Ü

I took the morning off from work today so i can take care of him and so Tashi can get used to the new environment. He's beginning to love the house, actually. I'm so happy!!! And for the first time in how many months, I am sooooooo antsy to go home!!!!

Hunny, if you're reading this, Thanks for giving me Tashi for my birthday! I'll really take care of him and that's a promise!

i caught myself drooling while looking at a security guard this morning. He was happily eating his ice cream cone topped with like 5 scoops of dirty ice cream (its not really dirty or unclean. I think we, Filipinos call it dirty ice cream because it tastes different and somewhat better than other ice creams. And this is usually sold in the street.) while i was inside the FX sweating like i had oversized sweat glands or something.

Gawd! I really cannot take this heat anymore! Its different when you're in the beach and the trees are swaying and you're wearing a bikini while drinking a glass of ice-cold pina colada. I have been wearing all my sleeveless blouses to work for over a month!!!! Enough is enough!!!!!!!!

I've got a really bad case of dysmenorrhea aka menstrual cramps today. Its sooooo painful. I can't even work properly. Its so hard to be a girl Ü

I got this from AskJeeves:

What kinds of things are likely to make my cramps worse?
Some gynecologists think that smoking, stress, lack of sleep, poor posture, caffeine (found in coffee and most soft drinks), and a diet high in fat and salt are all culprits.

Oh No!!!!! I smoke, drink an average of 2 cups of coffee a day, i lack sleep and feel stressed most of the time. So thats why my menstrual cramps get really bad. I'll make a mental note to drink 2 capsules of Evening primrose oil when i get home tonight. That always relieves me.

Walking down memory lane

Thundercats
“From beyond any known galaxy, bringing with them the laws and ideals of their green planet, Thundera, come the ThunderCats!”
Gawd, i miss this!!!! Used to really really love watching this as a kid!

Rainbow Brite
My sister and i were so addicted to Rainbow Brite (although my personal favorite was Shy Violet) when we were kids that when Christmas came, all i asked from Santa were Rainbow Brite stuff. All my stuff for school had Rainbow Brite on it.

Care Bears
And who could ever forget "Care Bears...stare!!!" I even thought they really lived in the clouds and i remember riding a plane and asking my mom if we could tell the pilot to stop the plane coz i wanna know how it would feel like to step on the clouds and that was when my mom told me that clouds were made of water vapor so there was no way i could step on them. That made me really really sad....

Tuesday, April 16, 2002

Last night after having birthday dinner and bumping into some friends, Leeds and i stopped by store, bought a bottle of Gato Negro and headed for his place.

We decided to watch some TV and when we switched to Channel 7 and saw what iwitness (its a show that features documentaries) was showing, we knew we just had to watch. The name of last night's feature was "ASKAL" (Short for Asong Kalye or "Street Dogs" in English). Askals are dogs that have no breed or dogs that are stray.

They started by showing a man walking (it was actually more of like, dragging) his dog and it was noticeable how the dog was walking in such a way where he seemed like he didnt want to go where they were going. As it turns out, his human was selling him to the dog killer (yes, he buys and kills dogs for a living so he can chop the dog up and sell his meat to the market). The dog's owner got 300 bucks for his dog and says he wants to get rid of the dog because he's already bitten way too many people (maybe its because he didnt raise him very well huh?).The next scene just killed me. They hung the dog by the neck on a rope and stabbed him in the neck. I just had to switch channels after that coz i couldn't take it.

After a few minutes, i went back to watching the show. They featured this old man who has been known for cooking dogs for 50 years already. They followed him to the market and the camera crew took this shot where a dog was following and barking at the old man. I believe the dog knew what this man did for a living.

They actually took a shot of the man cooking dog meat. The old man said that dog meat makes you feel warm all over (ill just sit in front of a fire, thank you). When asked how much 1 whole casserole of his specialty was, he said it costs around 1500 pesos. I always thought people eat dogs because its cheaper and they can't afford to buy beef or pork. 1500 bucks for a casserole of dog meat? Man, these dog eaters must really love dog meat!

Halfway through the show, i was actually so judgemental of the people who ate the dogs. I found it to be very inhuman and barbaric and if it wasn't a crime, i would have killed all of them out of rage. Dogs are for pets, not for eating but then again, thats because thats what society teaches us.

The crew of the show went to Baguio which is known to be the "Summer Capital of Philippines" because of the cool air and smell of pines that will surround you. They interviewed a 20-something boy who helps his parents run a small restaurant that sells dog meat. They are a member of the Ibaloy tribe. The Ibaloys are one of the many ethno-linguistic groups of the northern Philippines. They believe that dogs are sacred animals and that if you're sick, you will feel much better by eating dog meat. When you throw a party and don't serve dog meat, your party will suck. To this tribe, dog meat is much much better than pork or beef or any kind of food for that matter. The boy even said that they are aware of animal rights but what about their rights as humans and as a tribe? True. I couldn't argue with that. That's their culture and I ought to respect that.

The last part of the show brought us back to the city where the host spent a day with dog catchers. Its really a pity how they catch those dogs. They also showed the city pound which was way too cramped. And you could see the sadness in all those dog's faces. A vet who runs the pound was interviewed and she said that dogs in the pound with illnesses go through Euthanasia and other dogs who have never been claimed by their owners are killed in gas chambers with other dogs.

That show really left me depressed and mad. Not at the dog catchers or at the people who eat dogs but at the dog's owners who couldnt even be responsible enough to take good care of their pets. I hope people realize that you shouldnt don't get a puppy just so you can oohhh and aaahhh at it while its still young and leave him for dead when he's fully grown.

I'm going to take really good care of my new doggie and I'm going to love him as if he was my own son.

And one more thing, i still believe all dogs go to heaven. There's no other place for them.

*sings* Happy Birthday to me! I just turned 23! ÜÜÜ

I spent the first minutes of my life as a 23-year old driving home while "One Headlight" of The Wallflowers was blasting from the radio. It was kinda appropriate except that I was driving home with One Brakelight. *snickers*

The first 5 people who greeted me (in order):
1. My hunny
2. My sister, Francine
3. My bestfriend since 4th grade, Bianca
4. Jenny, my ex co-worker when i was a flight attendant for Asian Spirit
5. My youngest sister, Sunshine
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I went to see my puppy last Saturday and he is absolutely gorgeous!!! I can't wait to take him home!!! He's only over a month old (he was born on March 5). I'm picking him up on the first week of May! *jumps with joy* Leeds and i are thinking of what to name him. Lhasa Apso's come in different colors. Mine is blackish right now but in a month, his color will slighty change to a lighter shade of gray. He actually looks like these guys. Aren't they the cutest ever? They look like ewoks but way cuter! Ü

i took this quiz today [via shae's webrants] and here are my results. They are quite true....

Your view on yourself

You are intelligent, honest and sweet. You are friendly to everybody and don't like conflict. Because you're so cheerful and fun people are naturally attracted to you and like to talk to you.

The type of girl/boyfriend you are looking for.

You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship.

You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship.

The seriousness of your love.

Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education

Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you.

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important; find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success?

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Do not give up when you have not even started yet! Be courageous!

What are you most afraid of?

You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self?

You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long.

Go here if you wanna take the same quiz.

Don't you just love long weekends? I feel quite rested but i wouldnt mind a few more days off work, though Ü

So i saw The Count of Monte Cristo last Sunday and it was pretty okay. I've always liked movies with a vengeance.

Yesterday, i saw Blade II. Action-packed. If you can't take gory and bloody films, don't watch this. eeeyyuuuccccck! That Nyssa girl in the movie (Leonor Varela) was quite pretty though. (No, i am NOT butch)

I have a secret: I wanna see Britney Spears' in Crossroads. None of my movie-buff friends have told me they've seen the film (or maybe they just won't admit it) so I really dont know if its good or not. Can she act? Hehe! I'll try to find time to watch it this week while its still showing.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few weeks ago, while watching Fear Factor, Leeds had mentioned how grossed out the contestants would be if they had to eat balut. Its a Philippine delicacy sold in the streets usually during the night (as this is an aphrodisiac). Its basically duck egg boiled in water. What makes this certain egg puke the hell out of foreigners and tourists is there is actually an incubated chick inside it.

I was surfing through Fear Factor's website and found that they had already done this stunt! They're still showing the 1st season of Fear Factor here and the balut stunt was done during the 2nd season so i might as well wait before they show it here.

Happy Birthday President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo!!!!

Speaking of birthdays, mine is coming up on the 15th. Anyhow, Leeds and I were driving to Pasig last night coz I was meeting up with my super good friend, Shirley for dinner at Tequila Joe's while my hunny on the other hand, had a dinner meeting just around the area. Coming back to my story, while we were in the car, Leeds finally told me what he plans on getting me for my birthday. My hunny is getting me a Lhasa Apso for my birthday!!! *jumps with joy*

The whole world knows how much I want a dog! But we still have to show up for an interview with the owners so that they can decide whether or not we will be worthy parents. I'm so excited yet so scared. All my dogs have been big ones (boxers and golden retrievers). The only small dog i remember owning was Yucky, a toy poodle my family owned when i was still a kid. So I'm really scared about this Lhasa Apso because he's still a puppy and he's going to be soooo small and fragile....

I'm so looking forward to meeting him Ü

This week's Friday Five:

1. If you could eat dinner with and "get to know" one famous person (living or dead), who would you choose? Jim Morrison of The Doors! Aside from the fact that he looks like a Greek God, I want him to tell me stories of the 70's and how wild things were back then.

2. Has the death of a famous person ever had an effect on you? Who was it and how did you feel? The death of Princess Diana. I really adored her even as a child. She didnt deserve to die the way she did.

3. If you could BE a famous person for 24 hours, who would you choose? Madonna. For one day, i wanna know how it feels like to have practically everything. She has kids, a husband, fame, money, talent, wit, etc. and I wanna spend one day in her closet! ehehehehe!

4. Do people ever tell you that you look like someone famous? Who? People always tell me I look like Julia Stiles and Reese Witherspoon

5. Have you ever met anyone famous? Hhhmm...Quite a lot but they're only local stars. Judy Ann Santos and i went biking once when we were still kids (shame shame!). Jimmy Santos and my dad are friends. Met Helen Vela when she was still alive. Met Eric Fructuoso like a year ago and was with him recently in Boracay. But seriously, I try to stay away from celebrities.

So i've been contemplating on whether or not to write an entry on Rico Yan's death mainly because I'm pretty sure I'm going to sound a bit bitchy about it. But my friend, Bea (hi!) insists that I do.

So the media says he died of hemorrhagic pancreatitis. In layman's terms, that means he died because of a bangungot (nightmare). Now, I'm just not sure if I'm gonna buy that.

I was talking to my dad this morning and the death of this young celebrity came up. You see, my dad has access to the National Bureau of Investigation (don't ask me why and how) and according to him, Rico died of overdose of sleeping pills and scotch. If you click on the link i provided above and read the article, you'll notice that the writer didnt even mention that Director Aglipay is Rico Yan's Uncle. Tsk tsk tsk. My dad says that that was how the Yan's got away with coming out with a "press release" that Rico died of a nightmare.

Maybe they did it to save the guy's face. I mean, its a shame to die the way he REALLY did, right?

I am so not a fan and I am honestly getting sick of all the publicity they're giving him. Okay, fine. He was a great guy, he did a lot of good. He died. End of story. Lets get on with our lives. Give the guy and his family well-deserved peace. (told yah i'd be bitchy)

And what is up with Claudine Barretto? Why did she make me and my masseur cry (guilty, hehe!) during her TV interview with Boy Abunda last Sunday? Doesnt everyone know that she's now with Raymart Santiago?!? Rico Yan's family isnt even talking to her. I bet my big ass she feels sooooo guilty right now. That sucks, really. You break up with your long time boyfriend, tell the whole world that he tried to hit you at the lobby of your condo building, be seen in a very public place sweetie sweetie with your new guy then when news of your ex's death comes up, you cry like an innocent little baby as you tell the whole country that you still love him and that you guys were supposed to give it a second try. *gawking*

Puuhhllleaasee Claudine, save it for your tacky soap operas. Hope i didnt sound too mean.

Rest in peace, Rico.

And as for me, I'm just going to watch Sex and the City tonight at HBO Ü

Got back from Boracay yesterday afternoon. What fun! 6 days of basking in the sun and partying at night. I bumped into soooo many friends who i havent seen in a long time. Seemed like everyone from Manila was in Boracay during Holy week.

I'm sick, though. Got the flu. But still, i dragged my ass to work coz I have so many people to call and lots of papers to submit plus my boss is going to kill me if I don't report for work! Ugghhhhh!!! I'm exhausted.

Mao Che was right when he told me (in between gulps of Rum Coke in Boracay), "After this vacation, you're gonna need another vacation".

about moi

Loves the beach, wishes she had more time and money to travel, recently got hooked to climbing mountains, reads anything she can get her hands on, frustrated writer, adores her 3-year-old Lhasa Apso, Tashi, constantly needs caffeine, wonders when she'll quit smoking, and will most likely die due to liver complications from drinking too much (if the cigarettes doesn't get to her lungs first). Can't live without accessories especially big, dangling earrings, shoe freak (aren't we all?), sucker for discovering hole-in-the-wall restaurants, will ingest anything spicy, enjoys giving and receiving massages, addicted to Friends, Sex and the City and CSI, goes gaga over kids, dreams of being alone with Jim Morrison and smoking a joint with Bob Marley. Would love to party with Gwen Stefani, shop with Patricia Field, write poetry with Maya Angelou and have Sting, Nelson Mandela, Mark Twain and Bono over for dinner.
