Favorite movie quote? "I know it's a cornball thing, but love is passion, obsession, something you can't live without. If you don't start with that, what are you going to end up with? I say fall head over heels. Find someone you love like crazy and who'll love you the same way back. And how do you find him? Forget your head and listen to your heart...Run the risk, if you get hurt, you'll come back. Because the truth is, there is no sense living your life without this. To make
the journey and not fall deeply in love -- well, you haven't lived a life at all. You have to try. Because if you haven't tried, you haven't lived...Stay open. Who knows? Lightning could strike."--Anthony Hopkins in Meet Joe Black

Best TV show quote? “Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous.”— Sex and the City

AND

"Sometimes when you hold out for everything, you walk away with
nothing."--Ally Mcbeal

Moment in your life which you wouldn't want to end? Why? Every single moment I was inlove. Just because.

What is the best gift you can give your self? Loving moi.

What does your blog title got to do with this survey? I hate mondays.

BOSSANOVA

I'm into all kinds of music (except country) but if there were 3 kinds of music I'm really into, they would be: classic rock, reggae/ska and bossanova.

And in this country, its soooooo hard to find a group who can actually sing great Bossanova in English and Portugese. There's always Guarana but last night at the Penthouse Grill of Stone House Apartelle in E.Rodriguez Ave., I discovered someone much, much, much better.

SITTI AND THE CUBANO

When we got there, they were singing Pauline Wilson's, "Follow your road" and that made us frown. But right after, they started singing Sergio Mendez's songs.

Sitti's voice is orgasmic. Seriously. To top it all off, she's absolutely gorgeous and she could pass for a model if she wanted to. She reminded me of a young Lucia Santiago. The Cubano is also good (and he's fluent in Portugese). Only problem is, after a couple of sets singing purely Bossanova music, Sitti started belting out jazz songs I have never heard of (she gives a wicked rendition of Sade's, "Smooth Operator", though).

I'm guessing that Sitti isn't really into Bossanova music yet coz she'd make The Cubano sing some of the songs she doesn't know. I feel that she's still learning about the genre coz her voice is soooo perfect for it! She sounds like she's mourning in the most beautiful way ever imagined. I hope they quit playing jazz songs and focus on Bossanova.

Please learn more Bossanova songs but nonetheless, obrigado!

P.S.
Stone House is so NOT a place for girls night outs. The place
is full of D.O.M.s on the prowl. As in.

WHADAFAAAAKK?!?!?

In this country, it comes as no surprise when someone from the showbiz industry expresses his/her intent to venture into politics. But I never thought that a politician would want to get into showbusiness.

But then again, Eddie Gil (OMG! He has his own website! Haha!) has always been...hmmm...different. Hehe!

I was inside an FX a couple of nights ago when I heard this funny song about a Peluka (aka wig). When the song ended, I distinctly heard the DJ said that the singer was no other than Mr. Gil.

Apparently, he just signed a recording contract (huwaaawww!!!) with Alpha Records and he already hired his own manager for his upcoming acting career. Hahahaha! Kaya lang, according to this news article, Eddie Gil is also a candidate for prison. Naku Po!

What has this country come to?!?!?

Seriously though, I do think that he'll have more success as a comedian than as a politician, tiba?

Wigs off to you, Mr. Gil!

Shrek 2 is one of the biggest laugh trip movies, ever. I've already seen it twice and I'm still laughing!!!

Laugh out loud moments were Pinocchio and his thong, when the trumpet guy did a solo of the theme from Hawaii 5-0 (tama ba?), the "Cops" spoof, Donkey making popping noises in the carriage on the way to Far Far Away, Puss in Boots imitating a scene from J.Lo's music video (the one with the water?) and Puss in Boots' nagmamakaawa eyes. I'm sure there's a lot more, I just can't remember everything.

Although Antonio Banderas' was funny and perfect for his role as Puss in Boots, I still think it was Donkey who made the entire film absolutely hilarious!

And by the way, I didn't like Fairy Godmother. I wish they had casted Megan Mullaly to play her role.

How can you say no to that?

AIN'T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH

I've been invited to the next climb that's going to happen end of this month or first week of June. It's going to be in Tarak Ridge in Bataan. I'm still doubtful if I can manage the climb and if my body is in a condition good enough for this mountain. But again, when there is a body of water concerned, I find that it is a good enough reason to go. And Tarak Ridge has a river.

Hmmm...we'll see.

Note: Feel free to click on the photos to get a bigger picture

Just last Thursday, my bestfriend asked me if I wanted to join her and her officemate's team of mountaineers on a fun climb that coming weekend. I'm really more of a beach person so I hesitated. The trip sounded more exciting when she told me that there was a promise of a waterfall the day after the climb. I figured that staying in Manila would leave me going out and drinking with friends and well, I was just a bit sick of that already. So last Friday, I told her I would go. This will be my first mountain climbing experience, ever. I was ecstatic!

Saturday, May 15, 2004-- MT. KAWA-KAWA, HERE WE COME!
Meeting place was in Crossing at around noon. But we ended up waiting for a couple of hours for another guy. We left manila at 3pm. We took a 2-hour jeepney ride to Tanay (I was told it really doesn't take this long but it was really traffic last Saturday) and from Tanay, we took another jeepney to Siniloan (took us about 30 minutes). From Siniloan, we met up with another climber, hung out in Jollibee for awhile and prepared all our stuff.

While the others were fixing their bags, Bianca told me that I would need to buy my own flashlight as it was already getting dark and that by the looks of it, we were going to have to do a night trek (which was something I was very, very scared of). So we headed to the market and I bought a flashlight for 110 bucks (my most extravagant purchase for this trip!). I was even complaining that maybe I shouldn't have to buy my own flashlight anymore and just share with her but she insisted that it was very essential that I get my own.

And then we took a 5-minute tricycle ride to the town of Pangil, Laguna.

THE BEGINNING OF THE CLIMB

We got to the foot of the mountain at around 630pm. It was already getting dark and for the first 10 minutes of the climb, I really wanted to give up and head to the nearest bed and breakfast in the area. The first part of the trail was cemented but it was waaaayyy too steep and it was killing my legs. To top it off, it started to rain. We stopped so we could put our jackets on, made sure that everything in our bags were in plastic bags so they won't get wet and we continued.

Thank God Bianca asked me to buy a flashlight! It was pitch dark and without my flashlight I wouldn't know what to do! The trail was rocky and very very very muddy. Once I got my momentum, my adrenaline just kept on rushing that it wasn't exhausting anymore despite my sweat. Actually, there was already no way of telling whether it was sweat or rain. I've never seen my trainers that dirty before (the mud was really thick, heavy and clingy) and it's such a shame but the city girl in me kept on saying "eewww", "yuucckk", "fuck!" and "shit" everytime I would step in really icky mud or everytime I would almost trip because of a rock I didn't see. But everyone from the group were sooo warm and supportive and instead of scoffing at moi, they merely laughed and assured me that I was going to be fine. And true enough, halfway through the climb, I was happily walking by my lonesome and didn't need that much help from the others. And this is coming from someone who's REALLY afraid of the dark.

We got to the campsite just before 9pm. We pitched our tents, changed into our clean clothes and got ready for dinner. Now, I always had the idea that camping food consists of canned goods and well, that's it. Boy, was I wrong!!! Guess what we had for dinner? Fettuccini!!! And it was yummmmyyyy!

We're finally here!!!

I got really exhausted after dinner and decided to take a nap. Until Bianca woke me up and said that everyone's joining the other mountaineers in the kubo upstairs for drinks and pulutan coz it was raining really hard in our campsite. We found ourselves surrounded by 17 teenagers who were playing the guitar, singing songs while we were passing around shots of gin (with orange juice as the chaser) and our pulutan of sisig very oddly cooked in a caldero. I loved the idea of 2 groups of complete strangers just having fun without pretentions. Hehehe! Cool huh?

At around 2am, we went back to our campsite and I dozed off.

Sunday, May 16, 2004--REDEEMING FACTOR

Woke up at around 9am, went out of the tent and took a look at our campsite. It looked better in broad daylight. Was looking at trail below us and guess what I found in the middle of nowhere?

Now, there's something I didn't think I would ever find in a mountain! And no, I didn't use it.

Welcome to our campsite!

with a couple of mountaineers

We had coffee and prepared to walk down the mountain to see what we all came up there for. The Pangil Falls aka The Hidden Falls. I was not able to perform any sort of stretching exercise before taking the trek down to the waterfall. And I regret that. It was soooo hard. When the mountaineers said that we were going down, we were really going down. I really don't know the mountaineering term for it but some of the spots we had to hike in were in a 90 degree angle so we almost had to sort of rappel going down most of the time. A small patch of skin from my thumb got torn off from holding on to the rope too tightly.

You know that saying, "Pag may tiyaga, may nilaga"? Well, the waterfall was sooo breathtaking that every ounce of exhaustion I felt vanished in a flash. Really. And I have the pictures to prove how truly beautiful and mesmerizing this place was.

I wanted so much to get close to the waterfall and so I braved the boulders (they were very slippery, mind you) and what do you know? Not only did I go mountain climbing but I went rock climbing too! The water was just the right kind of cold. Absolutely refreshing especially after the excruciating hike.

I know you can't really see me but lemme assure you that I am the second person from the left.

It only took us an hour to go down the mountain. These were taken when we stopped over to rest in a really nice patch of land near the foot of Mt. Kawa-Kawa. Check out my really filthy tank top and how the trees behind me are swaying. The wind felt really good!

Although my body is hurting like never before (and I highly doubt that I'll be able to walk straight when I wake up tomorrow), I really had such a great time this weekend. So much fun that the people I was with asked me to go with them on their next mountain climbing trip (it has yet to be planned)!

You'd think that after always being the dumpee in three long-term relationships, I would already know how to get over someone in the quickest way possible. You'd think that by now, I would have already mastered the art of mending broken hearts.

Not.

It's been a week since the break-up and I'm generally doing fine. But for the past few days, the bad side of singledom (or should i say, single-doom?) has started creeping in. Although I stil stand by the belief that our parting ways will be good for him and for me and that it's been long overdue, there are a million moments during the day when I think about how his smile and his securing embraces have made me so happy in the 3 years that we were together.

Call me the eternal optimist but I strongly believe that when there is still love, no matter how small, one should never give up and let go, even when sometimes you already feel that it has come to the point of absurdity. Do I still love him? Undeniably, still very much. In the past week, there have been countless of times when I actually still wanted to fight for what we had (or what little we have left) and I still carried hopes that we can still make our relationship work (no matter how many times we've already tried) despite all the hurtful words that's been uttered and the pain that we've been through.

Everyone makes mistakes and every couple will have problems. And I've always felt that these things will only make a relationship stronger. I guess our relationship wasn't built that way. As I look back at my shortcomings and the decisions that I shouldn't have made but did, I keep on asking myself if I regret making them. And I'm the type of person who tries hard to live with no regrets. So, do I regret the things I did? Sometimes. Coz they have always made me feel responsible for screwing up what could have been the best thing I could ever have. But then again, maybe our mistakes make our fate. Maybe without them, we wouldn't be where we are now or become the person that we are eventually, meant to become.

And so although I still hurt, there is an uncertain promise that God has something better in store and planned for me.

I'm still hopeful that Hunny will get over his issues and that I will get over mine and that someday, we would find each other and say, "Let's really make us work."

Until then.

I'm seriously considering going to a fortune teller. A friend told me that there are a lot of them in Quiapo Church. I've never been to one and I don't see myself believing in everything a complete stranger would tell me about myself and about what would happen in my life.

ON COWARDLY MEN and VICTIMS OF LOVE

girlfriend: i heard from bianca na friends na lang daw sila ng boylet niya
girlfriend: so how did you find the guy? ok naman ba?
girlfriend: ugali wise ha?
Bunny: he's ok
girlfriend: i mean its time for bianca to fall for someone with essence na. according to her ok naman daw yung guy pero yun nga lang friends lang talaga. i told her na good for the guy to say it agad na friends lang talaga at least di umaasa si bianca. sayang naman kasi magkaka bf na sana si bianca.
Bunny: but
Bunny: i think he's a coward
Bunny: yeah it was good that he had the balls to talk to her straight out pero kasi he likes bianca eh but he suppressed his feelings daw kasi he's not ready for a commitment kasi if there's someone he should really be with daw, it should be his ex gf kasi he broke off with her for that reason also
Bunny: and he admitted na if he didnt suppress his feelings for bianca, na-inlove na siya kay bianx now
Bunny: helloooo
Bunny: what kind of bullshit is that?!?!?!
girlfriend: i think all guys are cowards. it takes the right girl to make them manly. maybe bianca wasnt the girl to make him brave enough.
Bunny: i like that
Bunny: ahehehee
Bunny: but i hate that about men talaga. theyre supposed to be the strong ones
Bunny: tiba?
Bunny: tapos super duwag sila
girlfriend: naks!!! love guru or what?!
Bunny: love guru?!?!?! baka love victim
girlfriend: i think thats one of the main reasons why we fall in loe with them. girls have that natural inclination to fall MADLY in love with coward men depende nalang sa situation ha?
girlfriend: yup! im a love victim
Bunny: same here
Bunny: hehehehe
girlfriend: kasi kung perfect na ang guy, whats there to love?
girlfriend: appear tayo!
Bunny: girls are fly paper for cowards kasi we think we can make them brave siguro
girlfriend: feeling kasi tayong mga babae
girlfriend: haha
Bunny: true true
Bunny: har har

HOT STUFF

So you like spicy food? And if you actually believe that you have high tolerance for really spicy stuff, you have to try this. And then we'll talk about your so-called tolerance again.

Jovan and I tried it last weekend. We used a toothpick to dip it in our food (it sounds pathetic, i know) but that toothpick-sized drop made me sweat like I worked out for an hour and it made me sooo red that I didn't need to put blush on anymore.

And while all this was happening,Charo was laughing at us. Especially at me. Hehehe!

Will definitely light your fire!!!

I FOUND SOMEONE ELSE.

I was about to write something about relationships, breaking up, re-evaluating your life, learning from your mistakes and starting anew. Then I read this. It pretty much summed up everything that I felt and wanted to say.

And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous.”Carrie, Sex and the city’s final episode

Yes, I found someone else. Myself. And I'm still trying to get her back. How I missed her. I'm going to take care of her, love her and shower her with my full, undivided attention and allow her to have some much-needed fun. She deserves this. I owe her this.

I didn't get myself validated for elections so I didn't think I would be able to vote. Just found out a couple of days ago that I will be able to excercise my right to vote. Yahooo!!! Now, my only problem is, who do I vote for? Was initially rooting for Roco but I think he's so ill that if he does win, he won't even finish his term and De Castro will take over (yikkess!). So now, I'm choosing between GMA and Villanueva but I'm more inclined to give GMA my vote.

How about you guys? Who gets your vote on Monday?

BOAT PEOPLE (ddduuhhh)

The boat schedules from Puerto Galera to the Batangas pier the day we were leaving got really screwed up. Our boat was supposed to leave at 2pm but instead, we left at 330pm. Needless to say, everyone waiting for their ride back to the pier were getting impatient and very, very pissed.

Standing near me in the waiting area was this coñotic-looking gay guy who made me cringe in irritation when he turned to his friends and said:

Guy:Where are the boat people? What's taking the boat people so long?

*points to one of the men in the dock*

Guy: Is he one of the boat people? Can you call him so I can make him bato?

Irritating noh?
