Went to the new Peps bar last night. Its really nice! I think i will hang out there often. It's a lounge type of place. Its waaaayy different from the old, dark, smoky and jampacked Peps. This one is sophisticated and basta, really nice. I like!

Beer goes for 60 bucks and cocktails go for around 100-120. When we got the bill though, they charged us only 30 bucks for the beer coz it was happy hour daw when we ordered (we got there at around 830pm). My friend got a drink called S.O.B. and when i took a sip, it was REALLY STRONG. She wasn't able to finish it.

Anyhow, my friend brought a friend and she was weird. Her name's Diane. I had just met her and she goes to me...

Diane: Hey, you want to buy tabs?
Me: Tabs?
Diane: Yeah, tabs. E?
Me: Oh. Is that what they call it now? I don't really touch those stuff. How much is it? (of course i just had to ask. For the sake of conversation)
Diane: Its 1,100. If you know anyone who wants, let me know ok?
Me: Okay.

And then we start talking about long weekend plans..

Diane to my friend, C: Hey, lets go to the Cream party on the 31st!!!
C: Can't. Might go to Tagaytay with family
Diane: Sayang! That will be so much fun! I have a costume na nga eh and i have a tab na rin for the party. I want to go to Pravda! I'm there all the time.

In my head: Who's asking? Poser.

And then, infront of everyone, she fishes out a packet of contraceptive pills, gets one and drinks it. I look at her and she smiles at me. I think she needs to be introduced to the word "Discreet". We don't really need to know that you are sexually active.

Anyhow, Diane left Peps first and when she was gone, i tell my friend John D:

Me: that girl is so weird...
John D: I know! You should have been there sa car kanina. She was asking me if i wanted to buy E. Yun daw sideline niya.
Me: She asked me too! Weird.
Bianca: You know what, she's a battered girlfriend.
Me: Really? Wawa. Siguro kaya siya ganyan.

My hunny is the sweetest! We cancelled our Coron trip 3 weeks ago and decided to stay in Manila for the long weekend. And then last week, he tells me we're going to Subic and he's making me libreeee!!!

We're leaving for Subic on Thursday and staying there till Saturday. We still don't know what to do there but we do want to visit Ocean Adventure, the night market Bea's been raving to me about and we want to go eat some good Pampanga Sisig (if you guys there know a place in Pampanga where we can get real authentic and sinful sisig, please leave a comment or email me!).

I've been to Subic a lot of times with my family and all we did was shop! What else is there to do there anyway? Anyone knows? Tell me, tell me!!!

I don't know if i still want to give
Ocean Adventure 400 bucks (thats the entrance fee) after reading this and this.
Bad bad bad.

Remember Peps Bar in Pasay Road beside Cable Car? I do. I have a lot of very fond and fun memories there with college friends and my childhood barkada. I think the very first time i barfed because of too much alcohol happened because i was drinking there. I didn't barf inside Peps, though. That would be totally embarassing.

Anyhow, I passed by Pasay Road last week and voila! Peps is open again!!! They changed everything, including the logo. I didn't go in coz I was in the car with CG and D (Yes! Sila na!) but you can see the inside from the outside. It looks spiffy and cozy! Looks like a lounge. Will try to go there soon.

I'm no fashionista but i think i can pretty much judge if a person's outfit is nice or a bit off. I love watching awards shows like the Oscar's and Emmy's not only because i want to know who's going to win but i also watch it to see who's wearing who or what. I think its inevitable for celebrities to commit fashion blunders once in awhile but helloooo, if they wear a goddamn ugly outfit all the time, there must be something wrong with them...or their stylist.

Take for example Christina Aguilera who has successfully made it to a lot of worst dressed celebrities lists. And her new video "Dirty" grosses me out and my boyfriend thinks its cool. Figure out why.

Girl, ano yan? Can you please, please get Charlize Theron's stylist? (i love Charlize!)

I found a copy of this book at home around 3 years ago and decided to read it for lack of anything to do. I think it belonged to my uncle who is now based in the States. I asked my sister if she's read it and she said she didn't want to because she found it really creepy.

Hell, i liked it! It wasn't scary.

But the movie's a different story...

Anthony Hopkins' character as Hannibal Lecter makes me shudder in fear. Its amazing how someone so tidy, eloquent and intelligent can make you cringe at the sound of his voice. Even his eyes are scary.

Now i want to watch Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal. Yup, believe it or not, I haven't seen them yet! Hehe!!!

FRIDAY FIVE on a Monday morning

1. What is your favorite scary movie?
When you say favorite, i guess that means the scariest, right? Definitely Sixth Sense but i heard that The Ring is way creepier.

2. What is your favorite Halloween treat?
As a kid, halloween was a blast! I'd go trick or treating every year with my cousins and friends. I love getting candies!!! I remember that my cousins and i used to sing this at every house we stopped at:

"Trick or treat, stomp my feet
Give me something good to eat
If you don't, i don't care
I'll pull down your underwear!"

I found that song sooo funny as a child but now...bleccch. Its so corny pala!

3. Do you dress up for Halloween? If so, describe your best Halloween costume.
I had this vampire costume my mom and i made up when i was a kid. I don't really know what was so fascinating about it but all the other kids were really scared of me (maybe because of the red nail polish i put on the sides of my mouth. it looked like real blood talaga.) I even won best costume that year.

4. Do you enjoy going to haunted houses or other spooky events?
Nope. I don't even like those horror houses at carnivals. Wouldn't step foot in a place i if i knew it was haunted.

5. Will you dress up for Halloween this year?
Of course! That is, if i'm attending a halloween party this year. I'm coming as a hippie from the 70's.

I love letters. Ever since, I've been notorious for writing letters to friends and siginificant others. I have kept all the palanca letters (letters given during a retreat) and little notes my friends have given me since highschool. Writing letters is such a great way to kill boredom and to let your friends/loved ones know that you care for them even if you don't really have anything in particular to write about.

So when i found Shoeboxed, an archive of letters, I was ecstatic! Spent a long time just reading through random letters. Do visit the site and i hope you like it as well.

They're one of the semifinalists in this year's webby awards in the News and Zine Category.

Husband and wife had a bitter quarrel on the day of their 40th wedding anniversary. The husband yells, "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads, 'Here Lies My Wife - Cold As Ever.'"

"Yeah?" she replies. "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads,"Here Lies My Husband - Stiff At Last.'"

Saw Sweet Home Alabama last night. I was disappointed. The movie was shallow and unfair. Why? What i'm about to say may will spoil the film for you if you haven't seen it. If you wanna read what i have to say, watch the film first. But if you can't wait, do highlight the space below.

1. Rich, too good to be true guy gives girl the most beautiful proposal ever. Girl accepts.
2.Girl goes back to hometown and insults soon-to-be ex-husband and forces him to sign the divorce papers in the process. She also insults her old friends. And in one second, they forgive her!
3. Rich guy finds out girl has been lying about everything about her past. He forgives her and still wants to marry her.
4. Rich guy finds out girl was previously married. He still wants to marry her.
5. Ex-husband becomes filthy rich. Girl realizes she still loves the ex. (she realized this after she saw how rich he will become)
6. On girl's wedding day, while she's walking down the aisle, her divorce lawyer runs after her and tells her she's still married to the supposed Ex husband because she forgot to sign the papers. Girl looks at rich guy and tells him she's still in love with Ex-husband.
7. Rich guy ACTUALLY smiles at her, forgives her (again) and kisses her hand pa!

Now tell me, where's the redeeming factor in that film!?!??! How unfair is that? The girls gets away with EVERYTHING?!?

In fairness, the film was entertaining and it did make me laugh. And cry. Reese Witherspoon's great, like always!

Karla: As if naman there's something i can do pa! I think he looks like me coz he's so maputi! I'll send you pics as soon as i get home.

My friend CG has been telling me about her officemate who really really likes her. But he's not her type daw. She introduced me to him around a month or so ago. He has the same name as my asshole ex. Minus 1 million pogi points. Joke lang. Anyhow, D seemed ok naman until...he spoke english. He's not barok or anything. But he has this annoying, trying hard, amboy hiphop accent. So i thought that maybe at one point in his life, he studied in the States. I asked him. No daw. I started talking to him in tagalog. Aba!!! Mas deretso pa saakin magtagalog! So to cut the long story short, D's "accent" is the only flaw i found.

Even if she wouldn't admit it, i knew CG liked D. She would never go out with a guy again if she wasn't interested. And i knew for a fact, that she and D has gone on far too many dates already.

My sister and i were the first people to meet D. Everyone else in the group were dying to hear the infamous "accent". So last night while my friends and i were at the mall, we called CG and asked her if she wanted to go out for dinner and drinks after her work. And if she could bring D. She will arrive with D daw. We all got excited.

Boys, when a girl you're dating brings you to a gimmick with her girlfriends, it usually only means that its JUDGEMENT DAY. During times like these, my friends and i like to call each other, THE FIRING SQUAD.

So they came. After the introductions and a few chit chat...

CG to me: Can you tell this guy that i dont want to watch the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert? Not my type of music.
Me: Crazy! RHCP is so galing kaya!
D: Hell yeah, bunny! (ugh!). But the best concert i've ever been to was Rage Against the Machine's.
Me: *gasp* I was there!!! My uncle was able to pull some strings for me and my friends so we got in for free and entered from the back. I was face to face with Tom Morello but instead of asking for an autograph, i just looked up at him, stunned. That concert was WILD! Gwapo ni Zach de la Rocha!
D: Girl, you're cool! You should go to Xaymaca in QC.
Me: Yeah, i heard about the place. Reggae stuff, huh?
D: Yep. Its always jam-packed, though. But its all good.

Seconds later, someone texted me. It was from T who was right beside me..
(NOTE: T is a single mom to 5-year old Mikee. And can be very very bitchy. I wouldn't want to mess with her.)

T's text message: "Buns, bat ganun siya magsalita? Kinalibutan ako. Hindi 'to kaya ng powers ko!"

An hour or so later, CG went to the bathroom. She wanted one of us to come with her but we all told her she was big enough to go pee alone. Hehe. We told her to take her time.

T to D: Anong pakay mo?
D: What do you mean?
T: anong pakay mo sa kaibigan namin?
D: I've liked CG for a very long time but she turned me down na before. So now, I'm trying to be her friend. But obviously, i still like her very much.
T: you want us to help you?
D: How?
Me: Before we tell you, we want you to know that we're doing this because we like you and we know CG likes you too.
D: She does?
Me: CG would never go out with a guy more than once if she didn't like him. Trust me.
D: So what do i do?
T: Kill the accent. its annoying her. Yun lang. She hates the accent!

Bestfriend Bianca was also there and she told everyone while CG and D were busy talking, "Si CG pumasok ng Bistro 110 na single, pero paglabas niyan mamaya, hindi na!"

And when D went to the bathroom, we told CG what we told D and she was happy.

And what do you know, they left Bistro 110 holding hands.

Success po ang firing squad. We all went home happy.

This week's FRIDAY FIVE is interesting.

1. If you could only choose 1 cd to ever listen to again, what would it be?
Hhmm...Tough one. Best of The Doors. They're my all-time favorite band. Jim Morrison died too early. He should have waited for me. I could have been his wife. Hehe!

2. If you could only choose 2 movies to watch ever again, what would they be?
Tougher question. Trainspotting (i love Sickboy) and its a tie between Reality Bites and Singles. (I also chose them because all 3 have absolutely great soundtracks)

You can take the "Which Trainspotting Character are you" quiz here.

3. If you could only choose 3 books to read ever again, what would they be?

*Tuesdays with Morrie because i never want to forget the lessons I learned from Morrie.
*The Notebook because I think it is love in its purest form. Makes me cry ALL THE TIME. (wonder why they haven't made a movie out of this one. But maybe its better that way)
* Peter Mayle's "A year in Provence". It makes me hungry.

4. If you could only choose 4 things to eat or drink ever again, what would they be?
dimsum, KFC or Savory chicken, water and....ceasar salad!

5. If you could only choose 5 people to ever be/talk/associate/whatever with ever again, who would they be?
My boyfriend, Bianca, Gina, Charo and Aldo.

Been giving my friend G love advice for a few months now. G is 30 and he's a really wonderful, smart and tummy-aching-funny guy and he's been single for way too long. He's been dating this girl for almost 5 months now. They go out at least once a week for dinner or a movie. You know, normal date stuff. He really really likes this girl but he's not sure if she likes him back.

Last Saturday, i was with G and when i asked him for updates about his (hopefully)upcoming lovelife, he tells me..

G: I just got off the phone with her. She's with her friends and they're on their way home na. But i have a feeling she had a date with her tonight.
Me: Have you told her your intentions?
G: No.
Me: Sarap mo batukan. Its been 5 months, G!!! Do you still go out with her?
G: Yes. We've actually been seeing each other more often now.
Me: So why have you not told her ANYTHING?
G: I assume that she knows how i feel about her. I ask her out all the time, i call her up almost every night.
Me: Women are not fortune tellers, you know. And trust me, when it comes to men, a lot of women i know, including myself, DO NOT ASSUME. They expect the worse. Because men are so unpredictable. I once dated a guy for a year. We'd go out every week. We'd text each other everyday. He introduced me to his friends and i introduced him to mine. He even wanted to introduce me to his mom. BUT we never held hands, never kissed, never uttered sweet nothings to each other. Hell, we never even talked about "US" (was there even an "US"?). We even went to Boracay together and all my friends told me, "Bunny, this is it!!!". But still. NOTHING. I stopped seeing him after that trip. Now, tell me G, do you want to end up like that?
G: Really? No. Ayoko!
Me: So start moving! Stop making her guess why you're treating her like this. Baka may makita pa yang iba noh. Ikaw din.

Charo, you're laughing na noh?

Was asleep the whole day yesterday. Literally. Slept from 330-10am and 12-6pm. After dinner, i recieved a text message from good friend Carla that she'll probably be giving birth (C-section) that night already and asked me to go to Asian Hospital in Alabang. So off i went with Bianca, JM and Tin. May i just say that Asian Hospital is soooo nice. Wish all the hospitals in the country were as clean and nice as this one.

Got to the hospital at 930pm. Her boyfriend informed us that Carla just entered the delivery room. Half an hour later, there he was. Baby Xavier. All 8.3 lbs of him! Sooooo cuuutteee!!!

Other friend:. "Oh no! He got Carla's nose!!!" (carla's nose is big)
Tin: (To Carla's BF) Simulan mo na mag-ipon ng pera para sa nose lift.

Bianca: "Look at his lips! they're so red!" (parang nag-lip gloss)

And then Baby Xavier repeatedly sticks out his tounge and everyone laughs...

Me: Naku! playboy to! He's practicing how to french kiss na!

I wish i brought a camera. He's abolutely adorable! Parang I want to have a baby na rin... BUT my brain is telling me i'm still not ready. Someday.

Watched the 1st episode of Amazing Race 3 last night. And i don't know if Blue Arden (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, by the way!) will agree with me but my friends and i were drooling over Twins/models Drew and Derek. But of course there's a glitch.

Last night's episode brought them to Mexico and they had to look for this guy named Pablo. What kind of person in a foreign country would leave their bags in a cab and tell the cab driver to wait for them while they go find someone? THE AMAZING (and oh-so-yummy!) TWINS! So what happened was, when they went back to the place where they left their cab driver, the cab wasn't there anymore! And they wasted a good 5 or 10 minutes waiting for the cab to arrive.

They were the 2nd to the last team to arrive. Whew! I hope they start using their brains so they can stay till the end of the race!

Yes, that's them! *punas laway*

So it's a faggy picture. I found some yummier ones:

1. Oohh-la-laaa!!!
2. Love the mohawk!
3. Cuter version of Tom Cruise

Need to attend a birthday dinner pa tonight. Its 5-year-old Mikee's birthday (he's my good friend's kid and I'm very close to him). He had a children's party in school this afternoon and tonight is a party for the oldies. He's a funny and smart kid. I'll tell you a funny Mikee story tomorrow.

Singapore called him up and told him to tell me that before they call me for the final interview, they want me to make a 2-3 page marketing plan and submit it by Friday. *sigh* What bad timing. I'm so swamped with work at the office but i can do it!!! Shucks, i will work late today...tonight. I need to do lotsa lotsa research. But I'm happy pa rin!!!

10 minutes ago, my cellphone rang. A familiar landline number appeared but i wasn't sure who it was...

Me: Hello?
At the other Line (ATOL): Hello Bunny! This is Joey from ****** (Shit, its my prospective employer!!) Congratulations again, you've moved a step forward. Our GM from Singapore will be calling you at your mobile anytime between today and Friday.
Me: (in a super excited voice) Ok, thats great! Thank youuuu!!!
Joey: Keep me updated, ok? Looking forward to working with you.
Me: Thanks again, Joey!

During my interview last Monday, Joey (he's the country sales manager) said that he submitted 4 final applicants to Singapore and they shortlisted it to 2.I know they interviewed the 2nd person yesterday. And i know its mean, but i was hoping the other applicant would suck. Hehe. And since they called me for the FINAL FINAL interview, guess that means that they chose me?! Right? Happy ako! I was literally jumping after the phone call and my officemate was laughing! Thank you, God! Mwaaaahhh!!!!

Guys, Thanks for crossing your fingers and for praying for me!!! *big hugs*

Was watching Magandang Umaga Bayan this morning and caught Miguel Zubiri interviewing Ms. China of the 2002 Ms. Earth Pageant.

Miguel Zubiri: What can you say about the Philippines?
Ms. China: China is a beautiful country. Welcome to China. Thank you.

Eh?Ano ba yun? where the hell did that come from? I laughed so hard!

Si Miguel nga (close kami! hehe!) hindi nakapag-comment. Shocked din siya.

Sorry, I'm a sucker for beauty contestant boo-boos.

about moi

Loves the beach, wishes she had more time and money to travel, recently got hooked to climbing mountains, reads anything she can get her hands on, frustrated writer, adores her 3-year-old Lhasa Apso, Tashi, constantly needs caffeine, wonders when she'll quit smoking, and will most likely die due to liver complications from drinking too much (if the cigarettes doesn't get to her lungs first). Can't live without accessories especially big, dangling earrings, shoe freak (aren't we all?), sucker for discovering hole-in-the-wall restaurants, will ingest anything spicy, enjoys giving and receiving massages, addicted to Friends, Sex and the City and CSI, goes gaga over kids, dreams of being alone with Jim Morrison and smoking a joint with Bob Marley. Would love to party with Gwen Stefani, shop with Patricia Field, write poetry with Maya Angelou and have Sting, Nelson Mandela, Mark Twain and Bono over for dinner.
