PASEO UNO

First of all, a million thanks to everyone who remembered and greeted me on my birthday (that means, NOT you, Jovan, hehehe! Kidding!)!!!

Hunny took me to the very stylish Paseo Uno in Mandarin Oriental (its where Brasserie used to be) for birthday dinner last night. I think i gained a couple of pounds just by eating there. But hell, it was worth every single pound. Food was sooooo good. There were fresh oysters (hunny and i loved the cilantro lime sauce with the oysters), prawns, a great assortment of sushi and sashimi, smoked salmon and tanigue, a selection of imported cheese, pasta, all sorts of tempura, a satay station, roasted prime ribs and pork knuckles, different types of kababs, just to name a few. And the dessert station, was, well, let me put it this way- Thank God I don't have diabetes!!! Lots of cakes, parfaits, souffles, pies, halo-halo and vanilla and bailey's ice cream with all the syrup and toppings you want!

Another thing that I loved about this place was the impeccable service. In most buffet places, even in other hotels, the waiters are so busy that you have to ask them to do something before they actually do it. In Paseo Uno, its like the waiters read your mind. Even if the place was packed with diners, I didn't have to tell them to take my plate, clear the table, or refill our water glasses. The only time we had to tell them to do something was when we asked for our check. I will definitely go back!

about moi

Loves the beach, wishes she had more time and money to travel, recently got hooked to climbing mountains, reads anything she can get her hands on, frustrated writer, adores her 3-year-old Lhasa Apso, Tashi, constantly needs caffeine, ~~wonders when she'll quit smoking~~, and will most likely die due to liver complications from drinking too much ~~(if the cigarettes doesn't get to her lungs first)~~. Can't live without accessories especially big, dangling earrings, shoe freak (aren't we all?), sucker for discovering hole-in-the-wall restaurants, will ingest anything spicy, enjoys giving and receiving massages, addicted to Friends, Sex and the City and CSI, goes gaga over kids, dreams of being alone with Jim Morrison and smoking a joint with Bob Marley. Would love to party with Gwen Stefani, shop with Patricia Field, write poetry with Maya Angelou and have Sting, Nelson Mandela, Mark Twain and Bono over for dinner.
