Monday, August 23, 2004SNIPPETS FROM MY WEEKEND
It was my sister's birthday last Friday and we stayed over at Astoria with my other sisters and my roomie, Aina. They have really nice rooms but the breakfast buffet sucked balls. It was my first time to find a hotel that served tofu for breakfast and salpicao that didn't taste like salpicao. The adobo was yummy, though. I'll give them that. And the service was not good, either. Buti na lang it was free. My sister, the birthday celebrant, had their discount card that came with a free overnight stay in a 2-bedroom suite during your birthday.
Anyhoo, right beside Astoria is a Cosmetic surgery clinic and my sister, Francine, who's taking up a pre-med course in UP Manila, goes, "When I graduate, magtatayo din ako ng [insert our family name] cosmetic surgery!" With which my youngest sister Sunshine, replies, "So, pwede na ako magpa-botox sayo? Si Achi, butt-tucks ang kailangan!!! hahaha!"
I miss those girls.
Had dinner in Tempura in Greenhills. My friends and my sister have been raving about the place and well, I'm raving about it too! I love the Ebi Prawn Salad (tastes like california maki but...still a lot different) and the tempura is yummy. We also had this asparagus thingy wrapped in bacon. Kinda reminded me of another favorite Japanese resto, Nanbantei. Food ain't expensive. 8 pcs of Tempura costs about 400 (if I'm correct) and the prawns are not small, ha.
Was in Powerbooks Saturday afternoon and I got really depressed. I'm in dire need of a new read and all the books were on sale! But I refused to spend kasi my money is super budgeted. Probably next payday. Saturday night was spent with some friends in Eastwood for the San Mig Light Enduro party (free beer!). Nothing exciting, really. Badtrip pa, kasi it rained. It would have been nice to dance to the reggae music the band was playing.
Went to greenhills yesterday and got depressed again. Kasi naman, there are so many nice things that I want to buy but I don't have the moolah naman. Ahuhuhuhu! All I ended up going home with were cds of Avril Lavigne (i really like her music) and Black Eyed Peas, which I now play every morning while getting ready for work. Really gets me groovin' while dressing up. Hehehehe!
The week looks promising and exciting. It really does.
Before I forget, my sister, Sunshine told me this absolutely corny joke that sent me laughing. It's really corny but I found it funny. Mababaw lang siguro talaga kaligayan ko.
What did the eyebrow say to the other eyebrow?
ANSWER: ey, bro!
Be happy, everyone! :D
