TRAGIC STORIES because of THE WORLD CUP

KOREA

A korean burns himself so that: [This is an excerpt form his suicide note]

"I will become the 12th soccer player by becoming a spirit and will run for the victory of the Korean team. Fighting Korea!"

Ridiculous, huh? But hey, it's true. I found the story here.

BANGKOK, THAILAND

A man shoots his wife after she nags him about being a couch potato eversince the World Cup began. The wife snatches the remote control from him and switches the channel to a soap opera. (Link to this story can be found in the same link as the previous story)

TURKEY (A friend told me this story. I couldn't find the link to this one, sorry)

A 13-year old boy who idolizes Soccer player, Umit Davala (who recently sported a mohawk do) hangs himself after his father reprimands him for imitating Davala's hairdo. (Jeez..i wonder how the father feels)

RUSSIA

2 people died and many others were injured because of a riot that occured after Russia lost the game to Japan.

All this, just because they lost. Tsk tsk tsk.

about moi

Loves the beach, wishes she had more time and money to travel, recently got hooked to climbing mountains, reads anything she can get her hands on, frustrated writer, adores her 3-year-old Lhasa Apso, Tashi, constantly needs caffeine, ~~wonders when she'll quit smoking~~, and will most likely die due to liver complications from drinking too much ~~(if the cigarettes doesn't get to her lungs first)~~. Can't live without accessories especially big, dangling earrings, shoe freak (aren't we all?), sucker for discovering hole-in-the-wall restaurants, will ingest anything spicy, enjoys giving and receiving massages, addicted to Friends, Sex and the City and CSI, goes gaga over kids, dreams of being alone with Jim Morrison and smoking a joint with Bob Marley. Would love to party with Gwen Stefani, shop with Patricia Field, write poetry with Maya Angelou and have Sting, Nelson Mandela, Mark Twain and Bono over for dinner.
