Thank God for long weekends!

I went straight to Alma's (not her real name) house last Sunday after hearing the 6pm mass. We had some pizza delivered, made some Pomelo Gin, brought out a table and a few chairs in their garden and talked. You see, my friend is in a bit of a dilemma right now. There's this guy (oh yes, it's always MEN that cause women such misery) she's seeing..ok...well, not actually just "seeing", they sort of like have a relationship BUT there's a glitch, a very big one. The guy has a girlfriend. Yes my dear friends, Alma is #2!

So I know that it's my friend's fault. When she told me about this a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to just take a bat and swing it at her face for not thinking. She told me that she was happy and that she hopes I will be there when she finally falls flat on her face. I knew Alma was strong and I would respect whatever decision she has made and will make in the future. She's probably the strongest person I know, been through hell and back. I've never even seen her cry...well, till last Sunday night. The guy works on shifts and he promised to go straight to her house after work, which was around 1am (i think). At around 8pm, the guy texted her something like, "Lets just meet up tomorrow, I'm going out after work, you know where." Out of fury, she literally threw her expensive Nokia 8310 after reading the message. Thank God our friend was able to catch it. On the brighter side, it made her drink more, hehe! We were all trying to put some sense into her in between gulps of Pomelo Gin, trying to point out that even if he does leave the girlfriend for her, how is she so sure that he won't do the same thing to her, etc...etc...

But to no avail. I guess love isn't only blind, its also deaf. She suddenly broke down and cried like a little baby, like we've never seen her before. I guess she really loves him and I'm pretty sure she's wise enough to know the consequences of her actions. We were all too stunned to even react or say something encouraging. We all just sat there and allowed her to cry everything out, then she asked us to bring her to her room because she was quite intoxicated and she wanted to sleep.

My friends and i ended up sleeping over at the last minute to keep her company and before i closed my eyes that night, I couldnt help but think if the love Alma felt for that guy was worth all that trouble and pain. Should you still love even if you know that he has someone else? that one day he'll choose to be with the other one and leave you for dead? Should you still love even if it drives you crazy when he's not with you knowing that he's with someone else? What are the chances of having him pick you over the other? IS IT REALLY WORTH IT?

I dont know..i really dont fucking know.

about moi

Loves the beach, wishes she had more time and money to travel, recently got hooked to climbing mountains, reads anything she can get her hands on, frustrated writer, adores her 3-year-old Lhasa Apso, Tashi, constantly needs caffeine, wonders when she'll quit smoking, and will most likely die due to liver complications from drinking too much (if the cigarettes doesn't get to her lungs first). Can't live without accessories especially big, dangling earrings, shoe freak (aren't we all?), sucker for discovering hole-in-the-wall restaurants, will ingest anything spicy, enjoys giving and receiving massages, addicted to Friends, Sex and the City and CSI, goes gaga over kids, dreams of being alone with Jim Morrison and smoking a joint with Bob Marley. Would love to party with Gwen Stefani, shop with Patricia Field, write poetry with Maya Angelou and have Sting, Nelson Mandela, Mark Twain and Bono over for dinner.
